The Vinted postage problem

Vinted catalog pages show photo + price. Shipping is one click and one server round-trip away. Multiply that by 60 cards on a typical page and you're either guessing or wasting time. The native catalog filters don't include shipping cost at all — not even a "free postage" toggle.

That €5 t-shirt with €7.50 postage from another country isn't actually a €5 t-shirt. Rackoon surfaces the real total before you click.

What Rackoon's shipping filter does

  • Cheapest shipping price on every card. "From €X.XX" pinned to the catalog tile.
  • Set a shipping cap. Hide everything above the cap as you scroll — €3, €5, free postage only, whatever you want.
  • Combines with country filter. Only French sellers and max €3 shipping? One click each.
  • Works with infinite scroll. New cards get the badge and the filter as they load in.
  • Caches per item. Once a price is fetched, it never gets re-fetched on the same item.

How it reads shipping cost

Vinted only exposes the shipping price on the individual item page. Rackoon fetches that page in the background using your Vinted session, parses the cheapest shipping option from the page, and tags the catalog card. The fetch is rate-limited and uses a small queue so Vinted's anti-bot defences don't kick in. You won't see a flood of requests.

What if Vinted blocks the fetch? If Vinted starts rate-limiting (HTTP 429 or a captcha page), Rackoon pauses, backs off, and retries on its own. It also tells you with a tiny in-page notification if it gets blocked for more than a moment.
